In the newly created role, Yolande Escher will be based in London as part of the company’s international wealth management business, headed by managing director Jeroen Kwist.

Escher was previously a director at Barclays Wealth and Investment Management in London, where she led a sales team focused on the UK’s resident non-domiciled market.

She was also a director and client adviser to international high-net worth and ultra-high net worth clients at UBS Global Wealth Management, principally in Southwest Asia.

Her new role forms part of the company’s global growth strategy, announced by chief executive Larry Hughes in 2013, which involves growing its business development team 50% by the first quarter of 2015.

This strategy most recently included expanding its Hong Kong operations and opening a new office in Silicon Valley.
