Dargnat is CEO of BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPPAM), the largest investment centre of BNPPIP of which he is CIO. He has been with the firm since 2006 and became a member of the executive board and was named director general of BNPPAM in April 2009.

The appointment came at last week’s AGM in Amsterdam. Alexander Schindler, member of the executive board of union asset management holding AG, was elected vice president at the same time.

A new board of directors was also elected at the meeting, with the new board due to serve for two years.

Outgoing president Claude Kremer has held the position since June 2011.

Earlier in the year the association calculated the Financial Transactions Tax (FTT) would cost investors a minimum of €13bn annually at current transaction levels.
