Bower has held a number of managing director positions at BlackRock, most notably for the iShares business it bought from Barclays in 2009. Here he built up his experience with iShares EMEA as well as head of iShares UK from September 2001.

His new role – that he started on 15 January – is head of marketing for Invesco Perpetual in the EMEA region, reporting to Ian Trevers, head of distribution. Bower will change his head office location from the City of London to Invesco’s office in Henley.

At the same time, one of Bower’s direct reports, Carsten Majer, chief marketing officer for continental Europe, has been given responsibility for marketing Invesco’s EMEA institutional business as well as his existing marketing responsibilities for Invesco’s cross-border business.
