D2C funds platform will offer a ‘more manageable universe’ of active and passive products

Fairview Investing consultants Ben Yearsley and Gavin Haynes are joining forces with a former Baillie Gifford fund manager to help launch a D2C funds platform.

Vinco is currently raising £500,000 in seed funding to accelerate the build out of the platform ahead of launch.

The fintech start-up is founded by Felicia Hjertman, who used to co-manage the Baillie Gifford Japanese Smaller Companies fund and was deputy manager of the Shin Nippon Investment Trust.

Yearsley and Haynes (pictured), who established their consultancy Fairview Investing in October 2019, will help develop the platform.

A press release said the platform would offer investors a “more manageable universe of funds” and would target the next generation of investors. It would offer both active and passive products.

Hjertman said the DIY investment market needed to be shaken up.

“The information required to make informed decisions is often lacking on today’s platforms and the digital experience isn’t doing enough to help retail investors understand what they own and how much they are paying for it,” she said.
