The Cheltenham-based Country Partnership has three owner-directors, two of which will be joining the Bellpenny financial planning team.

Henry Hodgkins and Andy Thatcher will continue to look after existing clients from the Cheltenham office as well as building the Bellpenny presence in the surrounding region.

Mark Helmke, the third owner-director, is to retire.

Commenting on the acquisition, Hodgkins said there was a clear cultural fit between the companies.

This is the third acquisition Bellpenny has announced this month. Accountancy firms Foot Davson and Price Bailey sold their IFA business to the wealth manager mid-May, marking the start of Bellpenny’s drive to relieve accountancy firms of their advice businesses in the aftermath of RDR.

This is the eighth acquisition the firm has made year to date, and in April this year CEO Kevin Ronaldson revealed what he looks for when it comes to buyouts.
