Baring Asset Management has hired James Ind and Merrick Styles to its multi-asset team.

Ind and Styles will be based in London reporting to Marino Valensise, head of multi-asset.

Ind will join in early September as a member of the strategic policy group and the equity research sub group.  He has experience managing long short multi asset funds as well as equities at firms such as GLG Partners, Russell Investments and Merrill Lynch Investment Managers.

Merrick joins in mid-October from Amundi as a member of the strategic policy group and the economic research sub group, assume the chairmanship of the Asset Class Research Sub Group and becoming the lead manager of the Baring Euro Dynamic Asset Allocation fund, taking over from Hartwig Kos who is leaving the firm. 

The hires brings the team to a total of 12 members with an average of twenty years investment experience each.
