Ben Stern and Stephen Kattou have been appointed to increase Lincoln’s investment expertise and grow its client base, the firm said.
Stern has 17 years’ experience in wealth management, advising high net worth families and institutions on all aspects of their financial affairs. He joins as a partner from Barclays Wealth where he had been a senior director and part of the extended management team. He was also a member of the UK investment committee at the firm and spent the early part of his career in the wealth advisory business focusing on inter-generational planning.
Kattou joins as an adviser having racked up seven years’ industry experience. He was previously a private banker in Barclays Wealth’s UK division where he was responsible for a HNW client base. He also worked in the London discretionary portfolio management team as well as a period contributing to the development of the Barclays’ South African business, ABSA Wealth.
This existing team and new hires are supported by an investment advisory board including Hugh Sloane of Sloane Robinson, Dipankar Shewaram formerly of BlueBay Asset Management and Alan Carruthers formerly of JPMorgan Cazenove.
“We have established Lincoln as a powerful new force in the UK wealth management sector and have brought a fresh and attractive approach to the market, the Private Investment Office,” said Ross Elder, managing partner at Lincoln. “Ben and Stephen were attracted by our differentiated approach and bring with them industry-leading expertise that we are confident will help drive forward our commercial aims.”
