Barclays Wealth Management & Investments (W&I) has bolstered its East regional team with four appointments, including a pair of wealth managers.

Greig Townsend was hired as team manager earlier this month and reports into Paul Shaw, head of London and southeast at Barclays W&I.

Townsend returns to the fold after more than a decade, having worked at Barclays for six years as a private banker and portfolio manager. He joins Barclays W&I from Santander.

Joining him on the distribution side is Benjamin Lamers, who has been made East Region director. Lamers previously worked at Brown Shipley as a client director.

Rounding out the list are Scott Heslin and Rob Houston, who have been hired as wealth managers covering the East region. Heslin and Houston joined Barclays W&I in April from Brewin Dolphin and Barclays Premier, respectively.

Commenting on the new joiners Shaw said: “I’m pleased to welcome such strong talent to the Barclays Wealth team and look forward to working with them in driving the growth of our wealth management business in the East region.

“Barclays W&I is well placed to meet the needs of individuals looking to best manage, invest and plan for the future, and our East Regional team is on hand to build proactive and strong relationships with clients in Norwich, Cambridge, Ipswich and the surrounding areas.”
