Ben Durrant has been named deputy portfolio manager on Baillie Gifford’s £587m Pacific Horizon trust.
Durrant is an investment manager in the firm’s emerging markets team, and has also worked on its UK, global discovery, and private companies teams since joining in September 2017.
Prior to that, he spent five years at RBS, during which time he worked on its group strategy and corporate finance team.
Durrant joins current manager Roderick Snell (pictured) at the helm of the trust. Snell has managed the trust since May 2013, and is also a lead fund manager of Baillie Gifford’s Asia ex-Japan strategies.
The Pacific Horizon trust is down 24% in the year to 10 January, with a share price of £6.12. It currently trades at a discount of 5.6%, according to Hargreaves Lansdown.
