MacDougall managed the Baillie Gifford Shin Nippon investment trust for eight years, prior to moving to the global equities team within Baillie Gifford, while Praveen Kumar took over management of the trust in December. MacDougall is currently an investment manager on the long term global growth team.
Garratt is director in the clients department and his responsibilities include clients in the long term global growth strategy.

Meanwhile Peter Hadden will retire from Baillie Gifford on 30 April 2016. As a result the total number of partners will rise to 41. Hadden is a partner in the clients department with responsibility for North American clients.
