The new fund will be managed by Anne Gagliardini and will take an “unconstrained, multi-asset approach”, investing in a wide range of higher yielding assets to generate income and long-term investments for capital growth.
Serge Pizem, global head of multi-asset Investments at AXA IM, said: “Yielding assets tend to demonstrate cyclical and volatile behaviour and high income is often achieved at the expense of asset quality or asset growth.
“Axa WF Global Income Generation aims to provide regular income by taking an approach which balances higher yielding assets with growth orientated capital investments providing some inflation buffer. Our security selection and ‘3D approach’ seek to generate sustainable income and mitigate the impact of market shocks on the portfolio.”
Axa said the fund will contain a broad mix of assets across fixed income, for example high yield and global investment grade, equities, global real estate and other asset classes.
Manager Gagliardini is part of Axa’s four-strong flexible balanced team, whose views the fund will also benefit from.
The Luxembourg domiciled Sicav, which is part of the company’s “World Fund” (WF) range, has both a retail and institutional share class. Axa said it is currently registered for distribution in Luxembourg and that it is considering registering the fund across a number of other European countries.
