Lis, who has been with Aviva for the last 17 years, is currently head of equities at the firm and will retain overall responsibility for the equities team.
According to Aviva, as part of the role, Lis will join the group’s executive committee with immediate effect and will report directly to CEO, Euan Munro.
“Overseeing over £68bn in assets, David will be responsible for developing and implementing Aviva Investors’ equities and multi-asset investment strategies,” Aviva says.
“With a strong track record and a wealth of fund management experience, David’s expertise will be invaluable as we continue to extend our investment capabilities internationally and deliver outcome-oriented solutions,” Munro said.
The firm also recently announced the launch of a new multi-strategy fund range under the management of Munro, that aims to rival Munro’s former employer Standard Life’s GARS range.
