Carmen Altenkirch has been appointed in the newly-created role having previously worked at Axa Investment Managers with the same job title.
She will be based in London reporting to Liam Spillane, head of EMD, and work closely with hard-currency fund managers Aaron Grehan and Michael McGill.
Altenkirch (pictured) has more than 10 years’ experience analysing emerging market countries. She will largely focus on frontier economies, with a broader remit across the EMD universe.
Prior to Axa IM, Altenkirch worked at Fitch Ratings.
