Aviva Investors has hired Smera Ashraf as head of global wealth – UK, to drive growth across the firm’s UK wealth business.
Based in London, Ashraf (pictured) will be working with intermediaries, discretionary wealth managers and global financial institutions. She will report to head of wealth Charlie Jewkes.

Prior to joining Aviva Investors, Ashraf was global commercial sustainability manager at HSBC. She had also headed up the UK retail distribution teams at the firm.
Jewkes said: “The UK wealth channel is of key importance to our business and Smera brings a deep understanding of the channel and servicing UK and global clients.
“As more and more clients look to ensure ESG is embedded in their portfolios, her experience in this area will also be particularly valuable.”
