UK-based asset manager Avellemy has hired David Morcher (pictured) as head of collectives.

In the role, he will be responsible for strengthening the firm’s in-house fund research capabilities.

He joins from Rathbones subsidiary Saunderson House where he was an investment analyst while heading up its fixed income collectives research team for three and a half years.

Morcher previously spent eight years at Abrdn, where he was promoted to investment manager after originally joining as an investment risk analyst in 2012.

CIO Graham Bentley said: “We’re really pleased to announce that David has joined the team at this exciting time during our growth story and an inflection point for the industry.

“The investment industry is facing immense change and at the same time investment strategies and solutions are being overhauled, meaning our in-house capabilities are more important than ever, as we seek to provide innovative solutions for our clients. I look forward to working closely with David to enhance our offering.”
