Aberdeen Standard Investments has promoted Katie Trowsdale to succeed Bambos Hambi as head of multi-manager strategies.

It was announced Hambi was leaving ASI last June to become Quilter Investors’ chief executive, following the retirement of Paul Simpson. He had been head of multi-manager strategies at ASI since 2011, looking after £30bn worth of assets, including the MyFolio franchise.

Trowsdale (pictured), who will immediately take charge of the multi-manager team, has been a part of the multi-manager team for the last nine years. She has been a deputy manager and then co-manager on the MyFolio Managed and MyFolio Multi-Manager ranges for seven years.

ASI said Trowsdale would continue to manage her portfolios alongside her new leadership role.

She now forms part of the ASI leadership team, which also includes head of portfolio management Joe Wiggins, head of research Simon Wood and head of investment platform Dee Jones.

Global head of multi-asset solutions at ASI Aymeric Forest described Trowsdale’s promotion as “well deserved”. “Her investment knowledge combined with her market experience means she is very well placed to drive the multi-manager business forward,” he added.
