This is the latest move in the overhaul of the company structure under the auspices of chief executive Jonathan Polin who joined the firm in August last year.
Last month the business was segmented into a separate financial planning (headed up by Chris Williams) and asset management (Christopher Jeffreys) divisions.
Reporting into Toni Meadows, chief investment officer, Scrimger runs a research team that is now eight strong. He is also a member of Ashcourt Rowan’s Central Investment Team.
Scrimger joins from Standard Life where he worked alongside Eddy Reynolds (CIO at Standard Life Wealth) and Richard Charnock (CEO) to build the Myfolio, multi-manager product range that is now run by Bambos Hambi.
Prior to this he was head of portfolio construction at Ermitage, again responsible for fund research as well as setting up an investment process founded on absolute return strategies.
