Based in the London office, McNie will report to asset management CEO Harry Burnham, who also joined the firm from Brewin Dolphin in 2013.
McNie was a senior investment director at Brewins, and has had a career in private client investment management spanning nearly 30 years, including roles at James Capel Investment Management, subsequently HSBC.
Burnham said: “Gregor’s experience of the private client investment arena will be absolutely vital to our growth plans and we can use his vast knowledge across the investment management team as we look to develop our business over the coming year.
