Effective from 31 December, Tyndall will remain as a partner and non-executive member of the group’s management committee.

He is to be replaced by chief operating officer Mark Murray, while Artemis co-founder John Dodd, who oversees the firm’s Global Energy Fund and Alpha Trust, is to become chairman. Both will retain their current responsibilities.

Tyndall said: “We founded this business with an investment-led culture, and have always valued stability of personnel and consistency of purpose as a key part of this. With John and Mark leading the way, Artemis will continue to hold to these principles.”
