Artemis has hired Iain MacPherson as it seeks to beef up its distribution team under Adam Gent.
MacPherson (pictured) will take up a role as sales director in the London distribution team in March. He will report to Gent, Artemis’ newly minted intermediary sales boss.
Over the last year the asset manager’s distribution team has undergone a massive restructuring. Tony Van Gool left in May after 18 years as head of sales and months later head of distribution Jasper Berens was also out the door.

Gent, who joined from Allianz Global Investors, stepped into the newly created role of head of intermediated business a week after Portfolio Adviser revealed Van Gool’s exit.
Berens was replaced by Janus Henderson’s Greg Jones after just two years in the role.
MacPherson joins Artemis from Comgest where since 2018 he has overseen intermediary sales in London, Dublin and the Channel Islands in wholesale advisory and discretionary markets.
He began his career at Standard Life Investments as a graduate trainee in 2009 and held a variety of roles at the firm, including investment director in the intermediary sales team covering central London.
“We are delighted to have attracted someone of Iain’s experience, reputation and talent,” Gent said. “He will help us build on our offering to clients as we continue to deliver differentiated, active investment management components and solutions.”
