Investment boutique Ardevora Asset Management has appointed Irshaad Ahmad (pictured) as chief executive.

He joined the firm in September 2022 as head of global distribution. Prior to Ardevora, Ahmad was CIO of Canada Post Corporation’s pension fund.

He previously spent over four years at Allianz GI as managing director and head of institutional for Europe.

Ahmad succeeds Ardevora co-founder William Pattisson, who will focus solely on his role as portfolio manager.

Co-founders Pattisson and Jeremy Lang said: “We hired Irshaad with the intention of elevating him to CEO in the natural course of time and with the mandate to take Ardevora forward into the future. We are pleased to have someone of Irshaad’s calibre leading Ardevora into its next phase of growth and development.”

The move comes weeks after an Ardevora spokesperson confirmed to Portfolio Adviser that partner Paul Synnott had exited the firm at the start of the year.

Meanwhile, portfolio manager Ben Fitchew has also gone on leave for ‘personal reasons’, while he is expected to return to the asset manager in the future.
