Preston has over 30 years’ experience in financial services, including a significant time working at or with wealth platforms.  Previously, he was a board director at Cofunds, the UK’s biggest platform, and has also worked at Axa and Lazard Asset Management.

“We have found in Richard a great fit for the Ardan team,” said Trevor Cheal, chairman of Ardan International and managing director of investment services at Rowan Dartington.

“Richard’s proven experience and success in developing client relationships in offshore markets will be an invaluable asset to the business,” Cheal said.

Formerly known as Acordias, Ardan International was bought by Rowan Dartington in April 2014 and rebranded last December. The platform has access to over 30,000 funds and 70,000 lines of stock across all the major global markets. It also allows advisers to run client portfolios to specific risk mandates.

“I believe we have the perfect solution for international advisers and their clients and look forward to working with them to create real value for their business and deliver a great service,” Preston said.

Rowan Dartington, an independent wealth manager established in 1990 and responsible for client assets in excess of £1bn, plans to use the platform as part of its push into global markets which has seen it grow profits over the past year by more than 300%.
