Amundi has become the latest asset manager to release an equal weight S&P 500 tracker.

The Amundi S&P 500 Equal Weight UCITS ETF, launched on the London Stock Exchange, charges management fees of 0.12%.

The firm previously launched the Amundi S&P 500 Equal Weight ESG Leaders Index in May 2022, which has since grown to almost €3bn assets.

The firm said the launch comes in response to growing client demand for equal-weight strategies.

Benoit Sorel, global head of ETF, indexing and smart beta at Amundi, said: “Investor demand for equal-weight strategies continues to grow as investors seek to diversify their US equity exposure and mitigate concentration risk.

“The launch of this ETF responds to this growing demand, reinforcing our commitment to providing investors with robust, cost-competitive building blocks for their portfolios, in line with our recent launch of the MSCI USA ex Mega Cap UCITS ETF.”
