Effective as of 15 June, Mortier will support CIO Pascal Blanqué in maintaining Amundi’s existing investment strategy, as well as taking up a seat on the firm’s executive committee.
Mortier arrives from a global chief financial officer berth with Societe Generale Corporate and Investment Banking, the parent company of which holds a 20% stake in Amundi, a position which he held for just over three years.
He has spent his entire career at Societe Generale, moving from a starting inspection generale role up through group strategy, head of strategy and development (global equities and derivatives solutions) and global co-head of equity finance (global markets) during a 19-year stint at the company.
Mortier succeeds Alain Pitous, who left Amundi in August 2014 to become director general at Talence Gestion.
