Effective from 20 April, the appointment of John Angell sees him take over sales operations in the divisions from EMEA managing director Richard Shields.
Shields has subsequently moved to a managing director berth in AMP’s Middle East arm in order to focus solely on that region.
Working from the firm’s London office and reporting to AMP CEO International Anthony Fasso, Angell will distribute the firm’s global listed infrastructure and global REITs alongside its UK and European unlisted infrastructure and hedge funds.
“[Angell’s] role is critical to ensure our business achieves its growth ambitions by capitalising on the many opportunities we are seeing in this market,” said Fasso.
Angell’s appointment comes as part of AMP’s ongoing growth push, and follows several additions to its global infrastructure team in the past six months.
He arrives from running his own consultancy business since March 2013, prior to which Angell held positions as managing director and EMEA head at Brookfield Investment Management, and regional head for EMEA and Asia with Man Investments.
