Taking up a position in the firm’s London office, Damian Stanley will oversee transactions on AMP’s global infrastructure platform across Europe, effective immediately.
Reporting to Simon Ellis, AMP’s head of origination for Europe, Stanley’s remit will include transport, energy, communication and utilities assets.
Boe Pahari, AMP’s head of global infrastructure equity, said: “[Stanley] brings a unique understanding of infrastructure transactions as both an adviser and a principal, and will provide valuable insight as we deploy the capital committed to our global infrastructure platform.”
Stanley arrives from director and chairman roles on Whitehelm Capital’s Australian and UK subsidiary boards, respectively, having previously been head of infrastructure investment advisory EMEA with Morgan Stanley and managing director at Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets.
The appointment is the latest step in AMP’s push into the global infrastructure space, with the firm having gathered $540m (£357m) of its $2bn (£1.32bn) investment target since launching the platform in September 2014.
Roopa Murthy and Giles Gray joined in February and January respectively, with Emma Height-Cheng taking up a principal berth a month later, while Pahari arrived in his current role as part of a GID leadership shake-up in November.
