Allianz Global Investors has hired Andrew Koch as senior portfolio manager on its value and income investment style team.

Koch, who previously spent eight-and-a-half years at Legal & General Investment Management as its head of value and income funds, will now report to AllianzGI’s CIO of UK equities Simon Gergel.

Prior to his time at LGIM, Koch spent six years as a senior European fund manager for the BAE Systems Pension fund, and three years as a director of pan European equities at Janus Henderson Investors. He has also held senior roles at HSBC Asset Management and UBS Global Asset Management.

UK equity CIO Gergel said: “I am pleased to welcome Andrew Koch to our team, he brings with him considerable experience in European and UK equities and has been deeply involved in ESG analysis and corporate engagement.

“His arrival demonstrates the continued focus and development of our successful franchises in the value and income sectors.”

Koch is AllianzGI’s second hire this month, with the firm having added Roland Bagnall to its wholesale distribution team as UK sales director. DWS’s Hartwig Kos joined the company in August as its head of multi-asset fundamental investing.
