Allianz Global Investors (AllianzGI) has promoted Michael Krautzberger (pictured) to CIO of public markets, as the firm plans for the retirement of global head of investments Deborah Zurkow.
Currently global CIO fixed income, Krautzberger will take responsibility for the firm’s €475bn public markets platform from 1 June. He joined AllianzGI last year from BlackRock.
Jenny Zeng, currently CIO Fixed Income Asia Pacific, will become CIO fixed income from January next year.
Amid a wider shakeup of the firm’s leadership, equity CIO Virginie Maisonneuve has also decided to leave the firm at the end of the year. She will be succeeded by current systematic equity CIO Michael Heldmann.
Maisonneuve joined the firm in 2021, having previously been Eastspring Investment CIO.
When Zurkow announced her retirement in February, AllianzGI said it would split the global head of investments role into two. While Krautzberger will head the public markets platform, the firm has announced Edouard Jozan as business head of AllianzGI private markets.
