The €300m (£273m) strategy, which has an investable universe of 50 to 70 international stocks, is now available to retail investors for the first time as a UK domiciled OEIC.

For the first £100m of assets, the fund will be available at what the firm terms a “very competitive” ongoing charges figure (OCF) of 45 basis points. The standard OCF is 73bps.

Managed by Allianz GI global equity CIO Steve Berexa, the fund “follows an unconstrained, style agnostic, go anywhere approach”, pooling the best ideas from Allianz GI’s research teams.

The current investment process has been in place for more than five years, though the fund was first launched in 1999.

Allianz GI head of retail and wholesale of Northern Europe Adam Gent said that bringing “an established and strong performing fund” into the UK range was further demonstration of the group’s commitment to the UK market.

The firm currently has €500bn in assets under management and its parent company, Allianz SE, is one of the largest financial services companies in Europe.

“We are keen to continually bring the very best of our global business to UK clients at a competitive price point,” Gent added.

“We have seen broad based demand from clients for this type of strategy and we feel that with its strong track record, unique process and experienced manager, the fund will appeal to UK investors.”
