AllianceBernstein has appointed Souheir Asba as an investment-grade credit portfolio manager, to oversee the firm’s Euro Investment Grade and Global Investment Grade credit strategies.
Based in London, Asba has joined the firm from BlackRock, where she was a portfolio manager in the firm’s global investment-grade credit team.
Prior to working at BlackRock, where she spent five and-a-half years managing institutional and retail mandates, Asba spent four years as vice president and European credit strategist at Merrill Lynch, and two years as an economist and strategist at Société Générale.
John Taylor, head of European fixed income and director of global multisector at AllianceBernstein, said: “While investment-grade credit has posted strong returns so far this year, we’re cognisant that there are a number of idiosyncratic risks across the asset class that need to be navigated.
“Souheir will play a crucial part in helping us do this as she brings a wealth of experience to our team based in London.”
Tiffanie Wong, director – fixed income responsible investing portfolio management and director – global & US investment-grade credit at AllianceBernstein, said: “Investment grade credit has long been a strength at AllianceBernstein and we are delighted to welcome Souheir into the team to add further breadth and depth to our capabilities.”
