The group’s increased sales team now comprises four business development managers (BDMs) and four telephone-based platform account managers.

Existing BDM Richard Farquhar has been joined by Skandia’s Paul Judd and Steve Brooks and Ascentric’s Scott Winters. David Duncan has joined ATS as a telephone-based platform account manager.

Meanwhile, Julie Maguire has been named as head of marketing communications. Maguire joins from Standard Life, where she was head of customer and specialist marketing communications.

Garry Mcluckie, sales and marketing director at ATS, said: “The platform market in general has recently witnessed some major cutbacks to the size of sales teams. Alliance Trust Savings is bucking this trend by making a series of new appointments to strengthen our intermediary sales team.

“With the implementation of RDR and more intermediaries moving towards a multi-platform solution, we expect significant growth from the intermediary market as we offer something truly different to other platforms.”

Judd was previously business consultant responsible for Skandia’s new sales within the City of London and the West End while Brooks was a business consultant responsible for the delivery of sales targets in the Midlands and the south-west.

Winters oversaw Ascentric’s sales strategy in the Midlands region and Duncan was most recently a financial planning manager at the Royal Bank of Scotland.
