A&J Wealth Management has boosted its investment management team with the hire of an investment director from Kingswood Wealth.

Andy Harris (pictured) has joined the wealth manager as it seeks to grow its discretionary investment capability.

He reports to Matthew Butcher who was hired in June to chair the firm’s investment committee and oversee portfolio management.

At Kingswood, Harris was an investment manager advising private clients, trusts, charities and corporates, which he will continue to do at A&J.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Harris also has experience in private banking at Duncan Lawrie and Butterfield Private Bank, as well as Barclays Wealth and Investment Management.

Butcher said: “I am really looking forward to working with Andy as we continue to build on the success of our wealth management proposition. Andy has an excellent track record of client management and will be a valued member of the A&J team.”

Writing on LinkedIn, Harris said: “After 15 years working in the City, it was going to take a very special firm to entice me out of that environment. A&J are that special firm and I look forward to continuing to look after clients and to use my experience as a seasoned and chartered adviser to grow their wealth.”

A&J founder and managing director Gareth Jones said Harris’s background as a wealth manager and businessman makes him the “perfect fit” for helping A&J develop its investment management capability.

“Andy will play a key role in developing and delivering upon our strategy and I welcome him to the growing team at A&J Wealth Management.”
