AJ Bell has appointed Andrew Donald as investment sales director.
In the newly created role, he will lead adviser sales of the firm’s investment offering, including the distribution of its managed portfolio service (MPS) and range of funds.
Donald spent over 18 years at 7IM working across strategic partnerships and business development, and brings extensive knowledge of the advised market to the role. He has also previously held roles at Selestia, now part of Quilter.
AJ Bell Investments’ assets under management grew by 41% in the year to June 2026, reaching £11.4bn.
The appointment coincides with a 20% cut to AJ Bell’s core MPS fee, from 0.15% to 0.12%.
Ryan Hughes, AJ Bell Investments managing director (pictured), said: “With advisers facing an increasingly complex tax and regulatory environment, it’s vital that we have the experience and capability to support advisers and clients’ needs.
“Andrew brings this expertise in spades, and his appointment enables AJ Bell’s advised business to further improve the excellent service offered to advisers through our award-winning investment solutions.”
Donald added: “The combination of a well-established and innovative investment proposition, a market-leading focus on service, and the price reduction to its core MPS range from today creates a compelling offering for advisers, partners and their clients.
“I look forward to working closely with colleagues across the business to further strengthen our relationships and support continued growth.”
