Beagles will succeed current chairman Peter Arthur, who has served in the role for the last three years. She has been an investment company director since 2006 and on the AIC’s board since January 2015.

Meanwhile, William Hemmings has been voted into the role of deputy chairman-elect, with his position also coming into effect on 17 January after the AIC’s annual general meeting.

“The AIC plays a vital role in the investment company industry, promoting the merits of the investment company sector and tackling the regulatory issues,” said Beagles.

“I believe passionately in the attractions of investment companies and I am so pleased to have been given the opportunity to represent the AIC’s members’ interests. I look forward to being involved in the next stage of the industry’s development.

“I would particularly like to pay tribute to the current chairman, Peter Arthur, for the major contribution he has made to the AIC.”
