Aegon Asset Management has added a long-serving Columbia Threadneedle salesman to its team covering the south east and East Midlands.

Neil Sharp will cover UK wholesale relationships in the region alongside fellow business development manager Alex Beck, who also did a stint at Columbia Threadneedle predecessor Threadneedle Investments between 2010 and 2014.

Sharp first joined Threadneedle Investments in 2006 as a new business executive, he then moved up to account executive for UK wholesale and then business development manager for UK wholesale. When the business became Columbia Threadneedle in 2014, through a merger with US firm Columbia Management, he became regional manager for UK wholesale.

Sharp will report to Mark Ferguson, head of UK wholesale at the €410bn (£344bn) fund house, and support the firm’s growth plans for its third-party business in the UK.

Ferguson said: “Neil brings with him a wealth of experience. I would like to congratulate him on his appointment and welcome him to Aegon Asset Management.”
