The lead manager of the £328m Abrdn European Logistic Income (ASLI) investment trust, Evert Castelein, has stepped down after 15 years at the firm and five years in the role.

Castelein will leave Abrdn at the end of the year while his successor, Troels Andersen (pictured), takes over running the fund with immediate effect.

Andersen steps up to the role having been an Abrdn fund manager since 2013. He joined the firm in 2011 in Copenhagen as a fund director.

Tony Roper, chair of ASLI, said: “Evert has been with us since our IPO in December 2017 and has been a valued member of the wider Abrdn European real estate team. The board thanks him for his determined contribution and we wish him the very best in his future career.

“The board looks forward to working with Troels and we remain confident in the outlook for the company which is focused on the long-term European logistics growth story.”

Castelein joined Abrdn in 2006 as senior analyst for research and strategy in the Benelux region, before stepping up to head the department in 2010.

He then became an assistant fund manager of the European Balanced fund, before taking the role of lead fund manager of ASLI. It is not yet known what his next move will be.
