Abrdn equities boss lands JO Hambro head of product role

As the company continues bolstering its ranks after hiring Aviva Investors’ Rudling and Newton IM’s Parry

JO Hambro Capital Management has appointed Ben Morris as head of product for Europe, UK and Asia (EUKA). Based in London, he joins the team this week.

He was most recently head of equities, product strategy and specialists at Abrdn.

At JOHCM, Morris will be responsible for product management and development in EUKA, reporting to TJ Voskamp, head of distribution for the regions.

Voskamp said: “Hiring Ben is a further important step for our continuing growth as a business in EUKA. He follows other key hires over the recent months and joins at a crucial juncture where his valuable experience and knowledge will help us to continue to build relevant solutions and products for our clients across region and client channel.”

Morris added: “TJ has started to build an experienced distribution team that is taking this successful business forward across the regions. I am looking forward to building on the already strong investment franchises and product set further in the future.”

Hiring spree

The active asset manager has been filling its ranks of late, making a number of senior hires.

Morris will be working alongside Jonathan Rudling, who left Aviva Investors last month to become a distribution manager in the EUKA team.

Also joining JOHCM this month is Newton Investment management’s former head of sustainable investing, Andrew Parry, who will head up investments.

Parry’s departure was announced in September but he officially takes up his role this month, which will will see him reunite with his ex-Hermes colleague Tim Crockford.
