Issac managed GLG’s Core Plus Sterling Bond, Total Return Bond as well as the group’s Gilt portfolios. Prior to GLG Partners, he worked as a senior fixed income manger at SG Asset Management on the SG Core and SG Total Return Bond funds.
Over three years to 1 August the £48m GLG Core Plus fund is top quartile in the IMA Sterling Corporate Bond sector on the back of 33.80% returns, FE data shows. However, over the shorter one-year period the fund has dropped to third quartile with gains of 5.17%.
The £34m GLG Total Return Bond fund is the IMA Absolute Return sector and is in the fourth quartile over one year to 1 August and third quartile over three years.
At Schroders Issac will join the fixed income multi-sector team, responsible for managing UK, Euro and Global Aggregate funds as well as benchmark unconstrained portfolios. Currently the team consists of 10 investment professionals and employs a team-based approach balancing a quantitative framework with a judgemental overlay.
Schroders’ Global Fixed Income AUM has grown from £27.5bn in 2009 to £40bn as of 31 March 2011.
