He has worked alongside Turnill, head of the global equity team and a Merrill Lynch IM man from 1996, since the latter joined as co-manager on the fund in April 2009.

Williamson-Jones is helping with the transition of the Global Equity Fund’s team though is no longer working directly on the fund.
He leaves the fund in the fourth quartile over the past year, with a return of -11.7% compared to the MSCI AC World index of -8.6%, and third quartile over the past three years, 26% (with a volatility of 17.5%) compared to the sector’s 29.4% and 14.8% volatility.

It is understood that he will not be replaced when he leaves in September.
