Whitechurch Securities managing director Gavin Haynes has left the firm after 22 years to “explore new opportunities”.

Haynes (pictured) left on 31 December, the firm said in a statement.

Whitechurch chairman Kean Seager said in the announcement that an update on the future manager of the investment team will follow in due course. Seager will continue to chair the investment committee.

“We wish him well in his future both professionally and personally,” Seager added.

At Whitechurch Haynes headed up day-to-day management of the firm and had responsibility for several of Whitechurch’s discretionary management mandates.

He joined Whitechurch in 1996 directly after completing a master’s degree in international economics from the University of West of England. He started managing multi-asset collective investment portfolios and client portfolios in 1997.

Haynes said: “I’ve enjoyed my time at Whitechurch and am proud of what I have achieved as managing director over the past 12 years. However, I feel now it is time for me to explore new opportunities. I wish the company all the best for the future.”

In April last year, Ben Willis left Whitechurch Securities to become head of portfolio management at Chase de Vere to launch a discretionary model portfolio service.
