Yule has held sales roles at F&C since 1994 and is to be replaced by Thorpe who joined the company in December as head of consumer after a brief spell as head of retail at Sarasin.
Thorpe is responsible for the sales and distribution of F&C’s retail funds, and investment trusts for the intermediary market, and reports in to Mandy Mannix, head of client management. He was previously at Cazenove Capital as head of UK retail prior to its acquisition by Schroders.
Following Thorpe’s appointment Yule has now decided to leave the company, but there will be a handover period before his departure.
A spokesperson for the company said the firm has an ongoing strategy to expand its distribution capabilities and deepen its existing client relationships. "This will particularly focus on the retail space, and Thorpe’s role will be key to this going forward," he added.
