MacKenzie, who has also done stints at Barclays Wealth and Royal London, will report to David Macaulay, Rathbones’ regional director in the Scottish capital.
He held an investment manager role at Willams de Broe and looked after £160m of private client assets, developed relationships with IFAs across Scotland and Northern Ireland and contributed to the asset allocation committee.
Macaulay said: "Keith has an impressive track-record not only in investment management but in the provision of an individual client focused service that Rathbones prides itself on.
"We are committed to growing our team, attracting the brightest talent to ensure our clients enjoy both excellent service and investment implementation. Keith’s background is an excellent fit in this regard."
