The second role will see Gupta working with the firm’s private clients in the UK and globally to customise their investment solutions, although he will be based in Hong Kong.
Under his CIO Asia title he will be responsible for further strengthening Lombard Odier’s investment capability in the region.
Gupta was previously CIO of ING Investment Management (INGIM) Asia Pacific where he oversaw the management of $85bn in assets across 10 countries.
There he was also a member of the global investment leadership team which oversaw INGIM’s total asset base of $484bn.
