According to a spokesperson for the firm, Keattch informed Artemis last year that she planned to retire sometime early in 2016, but while no exact date has been set for Keattch’s departure, Saacke has taken on the role from 1 January Artemis said.
According to an Artemis spokesperson, Saacke, who joined the firm in December 2002 from Merrill Lynch was a “natural and easy” successor.
Because the firm has no centralised investment view, the role of CIO takes a more administrative hue at Artemis and, in the role, Saacke will be supported by three staff members that are focused on corporate governance, front office systems and broker relationships.
As a result of this Saacke will continue his role as co-manager on the Artemis European Growth Fund with Philip Wolstencroft and will remain manager of the Artemis Global Growth and Global Emerging Markets funds.
