When he joins on 17 September, he will have responsibility for all aspects of the management of gilt and index-linked bond funds including the development of the investment process.
He will report to global head of rates, Graeme Caughey.
Bridges brings with a wealth of 27 years experience, most recently with UBS Global Asset Management where he was a senior portfolio manager.
Before this he held a number of senior positions at ABN Amro, Morley and Citibank.
Caughey commented: “As we continue to develop our global bonds business, it is key we have the right skills and capabilities. Alan will play a lead role in the development of our UK rates business, not only delivering for existing clients but also growing our presence in the retail and institutional marketplaces.”
