Lambert will take responsibility of the £283m Absolute Insight Currency Fund, co-managed by Max Wahl, and will report to Adrian Grey, Insight’s head of fixed income.
Prior to UBS Lambert worked stints in Citibank, Deutsche Asset Management and Polar Capital, after starting his career at the Bank of England in 1990.
Grey said of his appointment: "Currency fund management is a core part of Insight’s fixed income and absolute return proposition. With over 20 years’ experience in currency markets Paul will bring not just leadership to our currency activities, but also add to our broader macro skill set."
