Invesco has said it will continue to increase its footprint in fixed income ETFs following the double hire of Deepak Bharti and Wayne Parker as fixed income as portfolio managers in the asset class.
Both Bharti (pictured) and Parker will be based in London and report to Raphael Stern, head of ETF portfolio management for Emea at Invesco.
Stern said Invesco is committed to building its fixed income capability.
“We have a strong aspiration to expand the team further and add to our product suite and, looking ahead, expect increased activity in the fixed income space.”
X-trackers and Finex hires
Bharti joins from Deutsche Asset Management where he was a senior equity ETF portfolio manager for four years and helped build the DB x-trackers platform. Prior to this, he was a portfolio manager at Barclays for six years.
Bharti will help build the Invesco ETF platform and manage the fixed income product range for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He will also work on the team’s US ETF equity platform.
Parker has over 15 years experience and joins from Finex London, where he was an ETF portfolio manager and trader.
Parker has also worked at Fourwinds Capital Management and and at Jefferies Bache as a commodity portfolio manager. At Invesco, he will manage the fixed income and multi-asset range of Ucits products.
The US asset management giant dropped the brand name PowerShares for its ETF subsidiary in February, in a move towards having one unified global brand.
In July, Invesco launched a low-cost multi-asset range aimed at advisers facing pressure on fees.
