James Codrington, a member of the firm’s private client team until it was sold to Société Générale Private Banking Hambros in May this year, is leaving “to look at other opportunities in the industry”.
At the time of the sale, the charities team was transferred to Barings’ institutional business so it, and Codrington, remained at Barings.
He is still in situ and is currently a member of the multi-asset targeted return group and also head of the charity business at Barings, largely responsible for charity and pension fund mandates.
Malcolm Herring, who has 15 years’ experience running charity portfolios will take over Codrington’s responsibilities and lead the charities investment management team in his absence.
Codrington joined Baring Asset Management in 2002, prior to which he worked for Deutsche Asset Management for five years where he specialised in managing private client and charity funds. He also spent two years at Lazard Brothers and 2another two years at Teather & Greenwood Investment Management.
