Tweeting since 4 June, Woodford the Wisest (@FundingWoodford) has already amassed more than 230 followers and tweeted 66 times with witticisms such as “God gave me two hands. One to receive money with, the other to accept awards with” and “I wouldn’t say I’m the best manager in the business… but I’m in the top one”.
The prankster(s) have since created another spoof account for Woodford the Wisest to play off, parodying his ex-Invesco Perpetual colleague Barnett.
Marky Mark Barnett (@MarkfromIP) was set up on June 6 and one of his 11 tweets reads: “The best master is the one who raises many more masters and much more important than this, who creates masters even much better than himself”.
Invesco Perpetual said it was aware of the Barnett account, and believed that it had closed. However, as of Monday afternoon the tweets were still coming. Woodford Investment Management has been unavailable for comment.
Other famous faces that have been parodied on Twitter include Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, The Queen and William Shakespeare.
