HSBC Asset Management has appointed Pierin Menzli as global CIO of equity, moving from his current role of CIO for thematic equities.
Menzli will oversee the active equity platform in his new position, which manages near $30bn. Reporting to global CIO Xavier Baraton, he will place a specific emphasis on emerging markets and Asia, as well as growing thematic offerings.

Since February this year, Menzli has served as acting global CIO of equity. Before joining HSBC in 2022, Menzli was head of thematic equities at Bank J. Safra Sarasin, where he stayed for nine years. He also spent over nine years at Contrast Capital, and over eight with Sustainable Asset Management (SAM).
